AirPods Pro 3 keep the shape you already know and rework almost everything else. The ear tips now rotate inward for a tighter seal, which is doing most of the work behind Apple's claim of the world's best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation — it's a real step up from the Pro 2, not just a marketing line, especially on trains and in open-plan offices.
The two headline additions are a built-in heart rate sensor, which tracks workouts through the ear canal without needing a watch, and Live Translation, which shows a real-time translated caption on your iPhone while someone speaks to you. Both work well in short daily use, though Live Translation needs an Apple Intelligence–enabled iPhone on iOS 26 or later to function at all.
The hearing health suite — a clinical-grade Hearing Test, Hearing Aid mode, and active Hearing Protection — is the feature that's easy to overlook and hardest to replace elsewhere at this price. If none of that applies to you, you're mainly paying for the best ANC Apple has shipped and a genuinely improved seal.
