Hands-On Review · Drones

Pocket-sized power.
Grown-up footage.

The DJI Lito 1 folds down to fit in one hand, weighs in under the 249 g registration threshold, and still shoots 4K/60fps HDR. We flew it for two weeks before writing a word of this.

What Stood Out

Built to travel light, not to cut corners

An entry-level frame with a feature set that used to belong to DJI's step-up models.

4K/60fps HDR

Sharper, better-exposed footage than the Mini 4K's 4K/30fps, with 4K/100fps available for slow motion.

36-Minute Flight Time

Five extra minutes in the air over the outgoing Mini 4K — enough for one more pass over the shot you almost had.

DJI O4, Up to 15km

A meaningfully longer, steadier transmission range than the O2 system it replaces.

Sub-249g Body

Folds to fit in one hand and stays under most regions' registration threshold for drones.

Safety

It watches every side, not just the one you're looking at

Omnidirectional sensing means the Lito 1 reads obstacles above, below and around it in flight — and reacts before you do.

  • Automatically brakes or routes around obstacles
  • Full-coverage sensing, not just forward-facing
  • Kept flying confidently in tree cover during testing
  • Doesn't replace good judgment near people or property
Vs. The Outgoing Model

How it stacks up against the Mini 4K

The Lito 1 reads as a straightforward upgrade across every spec that matters day-to-day.

Hands-On Review

DJI Lito 1 — Folds into a jacket pocket, flies like it doesn't belong there

We carried the Lito 1 for two weeks the way most people actually would — stuffed into a daypack, pulled out between meetings, launched off a park bench. Setup from cold start to airborne took under two minutes each time, the obstacle sensing caught two branches we didn't clock ourselves, and 36 minutes of real flight time meant we rarely reached for a spare battery. It won't out-shoot a Mavic in low light, but for something this size, that's not really the point.
