Amazon Echo Dot (5th Gen) — Smart Speaker with Alexa+
A genuinely useful upgrade if your old Dot is showing its age.
The latest Echo Dot keeps the same palm-sized footprint but noticeably improves on bass and clarity — it fills a kitchen or bedroom without sounding thin at higher volumes, and it's still one of the easiest smart speakers to set up out of the box.
The headline addition is early access to Alexa+, Amazon's more conversational assistant. It's a genuine step up for follow-up questions and multi-step requests, though not every Alexa+ feature is fully rolled out yet, and results still vary a little by account and region.
